Catching Up

I have been so busy I have not had time to keep up with this blog.  Back in the beginning of October, Buddy and I took several trips up on the Parkway.  We packed picnic lunches and just head either north or south.  The leaves were just starting to change on this trip. We sat on the grass over looking this tree. This is one of the many beautiful trees at the Farmer’s Market.  We went there on a Satureday (big mistakes-way too crowded) to look for green apples to make an apple pie.  We found some wonderful things at the market.

Lots and lots of pumpkins. Notice the old fashion washing machine with the plant on it on the right side of the picture. And more pumpkins! The leaves were magnificent! Getting gas after our many adventures. Buddy had never been to the top of Beaucatcher Mountain so I took him up to the very top.  We were able to get this picture of downtown Asheville. On another Sunday, after our cooking lessons at Williams Sonoma, we headed to downtown to the Lox Cafe.  It is the once a year Jewish festival.  The best food ever! Lots of people, lots of food and lots of good music. This is my new friend, Sharry.  I met her through Sharon.  Sharry is lot of fun on our once a month Game Night.  I’ll have to take some pictures next time and post them.  It will be at Buddy’s house in December. Buddy and I enjoying the beautiful afternoon in town. I couldn’t resist taking a picture of one of the gargoyles on the Jackson Building.  So much beauty in Asheville, we sometimes forget to look up. There was a lot of good music being played.   Great day, great food, great music, great friends!  Who could ask to spend a better afternoon.   On another Sunday, after our cooking lesson, we all piled into Buddy’s car and drove over to the Balsam Inn in Balsam, NC.  None of them had been there before (I take that back, I took Allison last year) and I thought the would enjoy not only the ride over, but the beautiful Inn itself and it’s delicious food.  Sharry, Sharon and I ordered the trout, and Buddy and Allison ordered the pork chop.  The food was wonderful.  That was the first time I have ever eaten trout and did not find one bone!  The desserts were also homemade.  I can’t wait to go back.  We at on there inside porch which is really beautiful.

Sharon looks so pretty and happy.

The indoor porch has a beautiful purple and white tile floor.  Can’t wait to go back and eat.

They were expecting snow that evening.  The next morning they had six inches of snow.
