I went to Charlotte this past Wednesday with several friends. I can’t believe I forgot my camera! We went to a beautiful outdoor mall. The flowers were beautiful and there were so many wonderful fountains. No pictures. We shopped in a wonderful paper goods store that had beautiful handmade paper. I didn’t go too crazy. I did, however, buy some beautiful hand dyed silk ribbon. I’m a real fool for ribbon. From there we went to IKEA. Wow!! I had never been and I was in for a shock. The place must be several football fields long. All the furniture is displayed in a setting it could be used in. For example, the showed a furnished 350 square foot apartment and how to use their furniture to it’s best advantage. I never knew you could but so much into such a small space and make it not only look good, but spacious. They are amazing. Sorry, no pictures. I am going to the River District Art Walk tomorrow so I will try to remember my camera.
I wanted to show a book I made this past winter. It was just for my own enjoyment(very unusual). I started it in the Fall and finished it when I went to visit Nicole at Christmas.
This is the cover of the book.
Pretty vintage lace and ribbons.
I loved these two children with flowers in their hair.
T his is my favorite quote from The Color Purple. I always wanted to use it in some kind of art work.
What’s not to like about this picture? That little girl would put a smile on anyone’s face. She is just precious!
I just love snow scenes.
Aren’t they sweet little girls?
I know flowers always brighten my spirit. Richard use to bring me flowers all the time. Some how it’s not the same when you buy your own flowers. Still beautiful and uplifting, but not the same.
This lovey little girl only needed some crystals added to her hair to complete the picture.
Truer words were never more spoken.
AMEN!
This picture was taken just before we left for the airport.
Hope you enjoyed the book.
Blessings.
The flowers were awesome! oxo, Jan
